What keeps you up at night? Video Contest
Our live Forum events often feature panelists answering the question: “What keeps you up at night?” Through the years, panelists’ answers have been at times funny, poignant, prophetic and always interesting. Here, Kurt Vonnegut and Joyce Carol Oates answer.

The Forum Channel Video Contest - Rules & Regulations
The Forum Video Contest is an online competition where contestants are asked to submit 30-second videos answering the question “What keeps you up at night?” for the chance to win an all-expenses paid trip for two to see The Forum live in Hartford, Conn.
Videos can be submitted online at www.theforumchannel.tv from 11/14/09 – 2/26/10
The Sponsor (as outlined below) will select the top three videos and post them online between 2/26/10 – 3/05/10
Voting on the videos will be open to the public and will take place between 3/05/09 – 3/19/10
The winner of the contest will be notified between 3/19/10 – 3/22/10
The winner will be announced online at www.theforumchannel.tv.
ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to all legal residents of the Continental United States and the District of Columbia. Each entrant must be the legal owner of the email address used to submit their entry. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the winner. Sponsor employees and their families are not eligible for entry. If the entrant is under 18 years of age, they must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
HOW TO ENTER: All videos must be submitted online at www.forumchannel.tv. Contestants can upload their full video via the portal hosted on the site.
Video Submission requirements
Videos must:
- Be at most 30 seconds long.
- Answer the question “What keeps you up at night.”
- Be submitted online at www.theforumchannel.tv.
- Be clearly titled.
- Be the original work and ideas of the creator.
Videos must not:
Exceed 30 seconds in length.
Include any profanity, nudity, violence, discriminatory content, or any other content that the sponsor finds offensive.
Contain any information or trademarks that violent personal or public privacy clauses.
VIEWING PERIOD: Videos submitted to the contest will not be immediately posted online. The Sponsor reserves the right to feature the video in any way they see fit for the duration of the contest as outlined in “rights in submission.”
JUDGING PERIOD: The top three entries, as selected by the Sponsor and their board (TBD) will be uploaded for public viewing on www.theforumchannel.tv by 2/26/10. Public voting will take place from 2/26/10 – 3/19/10.
PUBLIC VOTING: On or around 2/26/10, the top three videos as selected by the Sponsor and their board (TBD) will be posted for public viewing on www.theforumchannel.tv. Visitors to the site may vote by selecting the video of their choice from the list of three videos. Each vote counts once toward the video selected by the voter.
The winner will be determined by the number of votes. The video with the highest number of votes will be chosen as the winner of the contest. The video with the second highest number of votes will be determined the second place winner of the contest. The video with the third highest number of votes will be determined the third place winner of the contest. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the Sponsor and their board.
Voting will close on 3/19/10 and the winner will notified as outlined below.
WINNER NOTIFICATION AND ANNOUNCEMENT: The winner will be notified by 3/20/10 by the email used by the contestant to register for the contest. If the winner doesn’t respond by 3/22/10, or if they reject the prize, the Sponsor has the right to award the prize to the second place winner.
PRIZES: The winner of the contest will receive an all-expenses paid trip for two to Hartford, Conn. to see The Forum live on May 1, 2010. The Sponsor will make all travel arrangements. Prize includes round-trip airfare for two from within the continental United States, transportation to and from Bradley International (BDL) airport, and an exclusive VIP dinner with the Forum panelists on 5/1/10. The winner will be entitled to a photograph with the panelist of their choice, as well as an exclusive autographed item from that panelist. Prize also includes one night of accommodations at a hotel in Hartford, Connecticut as selected by the Sponsor, and transportation to and from the live forum from the hotel.
Any additional expenses incurred by the winner that are not included in “Prizes” are the sole responsibility of the winner.
PRIZE RESTRICTIONS: Winner must be a resident of the continental United States. If the winner is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the winner to Hartford, Conn.
RIGHTS IN SUBMISSION: All content submitted to www.theforumchannel.tv is subject to posting, promotion, public viewing, and other use the Sponsor deems appropriate.
RELEASE AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: The Sponsor is not liable for any damage, harm, illness, or difficulty experience by entrants as a result of The Contest. All entrants participate by their own will and release all limitation and liability.
PRIVACY POLICY: By submitting your email address to the Sponsor, you grant permission to the Sponsor to share your email and information with any cosponsor solely for the purpose of administration and prize distribution. The Sponsor is not permitted to use your information for any other purpose.
